1. You Are Not Your Character

You must act as your character at all times, not yourself. Out-of-character talk that clearly breaks immersion is not allowed. This includes referencing real life, systems, staff, or mechanics in a way that disrupts roleplay.

  1. No Racism, Hate Speech, or Bigotry

While GTA is a parody of life, this is a roleplay community first. There are real people behind every character. Racism, hate speech, or bigotry whether IC or OOC is not tolerated.

  2. No Harassment

Harassment that goes beyond quality roleplay and enters Fail RP or concerning behavior will result in staff action. This is taken even more seriously if it becomes out of character harassment.

  3. No Toxicity

Simply put: don’t be a dick. Treat others with respect and help foster a healthy roleplay environment.

  4. Valuing Life (NVL)

You must value your own life, the lives of your friends, and the lives of others. If you choose not to value life, it must make clear sense within the context of the roleplay and the situation.

Gameplay & Immersion Rules

  1. No Metagaming, Power gaming, or Fail RP

Metagaming, power gaming, and fail RP are strictly prohibited. This includes being awake in the city while watching or lurking in another player’s Twitch stream if they are also in the city even if they are in the same group or gang. This will be considered a rule violation.

  2. No Exploiting

Knowingly abusing bugs, broken mechanics, or unintended content to gain an advantage is prohibited. If something is clearly not intended and you are aware of it, do not use it.

  3. No-Go Roleplay Topics

The following roleplay topics are NOT allowed:

  • Racism or hateful RP

  • Erotic roleplay

  • Pregnancy or miscarriage RP

  • Sexual abuse in any form (including rape, pedophilia, or threats of such)

  • Slavery

  • Mental health crisis*

  • Terminal illness*

*Topics marked with an asterisk require explicit admin approval for story purposes.

  1. Naming Guidelines

All character names must follow common community and streamer-safe naming standards.

  2. Conflict & Targeted RP

Conflict-driven roleplay can be tricky. Do your best to ensure it remains respectful and grounded. Always remember there are real people behind the characters.

  3. Adult Server

Misfits Roleplay is an 18+ community. You must be over the age of 18 to join and play.

  4. Ticket Over usage

Before opening a ticket, ensure it is being used for its intended purpose. Tickets should only be opened for game-breaking bugs, player reports, or staff reports. Do not open tickets for issues that can be resolved in character or through normal roleplay.

  5. Self-Promotion & Advertising

Self-promotion is limited to the designated community streaming channel. This channel is the beginning and end of self-promotion. Advertising other communities or social media pages—directly or indirectly—is not allowed without prior admin approval.

Scene Integrity Rules

  1. No Breaking Character

You must remain in character at all times during active scenes. If you believe a rule has been broken, finish the scene and report it afterward using the proper channels. The only exceptions are severe issues such as hate speech, sexual content, or extreme harassment, which should be reported immediately.

  2. Copyrighted Music

Do not play copyrighted music in public areas. Protect content creators—violations like this can put their channels and livelihoods at risk.

  3. Gunplay Over Roleplay

Roleplay must always come before gunplay. Firearms require proper in-character justification and buildup. Random or unnecessary violence that disrupts roleplay is not allowed.

  4. No Cop Baiting

Intentionally provoking or harassing police, or repeatedly attempting to draw PD into interactions without meaningful roleplay, is prohibited. Crime should have purpose, and risks should be roleplayed appropriately.

  5. New Life Rule (NLR)

If your character is executed as part of a major story event or scene, you may not remember identifying details of your attackers. Being airlifted to the hospital once your timer reaches zero carries the same effect.
You may remember general details such as clothing or the number of individuals involved, but all other identifying information must be forgotten unless attackers intentionally left counter play clues.

  6. Corruption Roleplay

Corruption roleplay is not allowed unless explicitly approved by the Founders. Server staff reserve the right to investigate and take action against unauthorized corruption roleplay.

Communication Rules

  1. Use of Third-Party Voice Platforms

Using third-party voice or video platforms to communicate with players who are also awake in the city is not allowed. You may not be in an active call with anyone currently in the city while you are also awake in the city on any platform.

Crime & Activity Rules

  1. Crime Numbers

Crime numbers include all participants, including interference vehicles. These limits are expected to be followed at all times.

Cop Number Rule:

  • Attending criminals + 1 officer

  • (Air 1 does not count toward officer numbers)

    Petty Crime (1–4 People)

  • ATMs

  • Parking meter cracking

  • Drug selling

    Tier 1 Crime (1–4 People)

  • House robberies

  • Hustling

  • Store robberies

  • Vehicle boosting (M, D, and C class)

    Tier 2 Crime (1–4 People)

  • Fleeca heists

  • Vehicle boosting (B class)

  • More coming soon

    Tier 3 Crime (1–4 People)

  • Vangelico heist

  • Vehicle boosting (A class, S class coming soon)

  • More coming soon

  1. Fake Hostages

  • Fake hostages are not allowed. You may not use your friends or associates and pretend they are hostages during a crime.

  1. Vehicle Limits

  • No more than two vehicles may be present at a crime scene unless the crime tier explicitly allows for up to six people.

  • Pickup vehicles and swap vehicles do not count toward the vehicle limit; however, any person involved in those vehicles does count toward the total criminal number. Be careful not to exceed allowed limits.

  1. Low-Quality RP (LQRP) Robberies

  • Robbing other players is permitted but must involve high-quality roleplay. You must have a justified in-character reason for targeting the individual(s) and provide some form of counterplay, such as leaving a genuine clue about who did it or where you can be found.

  • Taking most or all of a player’s items while they are down, or through robbery mechanics, without a valid roleplay reason is prohibited and may be considered griefing.

  • Farming police during traffic stops or looting police equipment without meaningful roleplay value is not allowed. Exceptions may apply if it serves a genuine RP purpose, such as looting during an active shootout to sustain yourself or kidnapping an officer as part of well-developed, non–low-effort roleplay.

  1. No RDM or VDM

  • All conflict must be supported by solid roleplay from start to finish. Random Deathmatch (RDM) or Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) is not permitted and will be treated as a rule violation.

Gangs

  • Gangs within Misfits Roleplay are not intended to exist solely for constant violence or conflict. We encourage originality, creativity, and depth when developing gang concepts.

  • All information regarding gangs, expectations, and the application process can be found in the Gang Bible, which will be available soon. We are currently reviewing it and expect it to be live within the next few days.

Definitions

  1. OOC | Out of Character

Described as talking as yourself instead of your character. Saying things like “I can’t hear you, can you turn up your mic please?” or “Can I send you this meme on discord?”

Your character would hold no knowledge of these things, but the rule regarding this is specifically immersion breaking terms. To be safe, just talk in the pov of your character and not yourself.

  2. FailRP | Failing Roleplay

Described as showing intent to not actually roleplay or not being willing to act out their scenarios in a realistic way

Example: You get pulled over by the police and as they walk up to your car, you pull out your gun and shoot them down before even interacting with the possible scene

  3. NVL | Not Valuing Life

Not showing any concern to yourself or those close to your character in any realistic way.

Example: Your friend is dying and is begging to go to the hospital, but a competitive race is about to start so you just leave them there in the back and finish the race first

  4. Meta-gaming

Using information that you received out of character and using it in character. cont.

Example: You’re watching a stream and see someone find out how to open the Vangelico vault, so you replicate the steps despite your character having no knowledge of the steps.

  5. Power-gaming

Forcing someone into a scene or action that they otherwise did not or would not consent to.

Example: A cop is demanding your name and you’re refusing, so they do

“/me takes ID out of pocket” to force you to answer, since they “have” your ID. That cop would be Power-gaming

  6. Lurking

Watching a stream, even if you’re not an active chatter

  7. LQRP | Low Quality Roleplay

A lesser version to FailRP. Instead of outright failing the scene, you’re doing things that don’t make much sense just to “get it over with”

Example: You got shot in the head after trying to 1v8 a gang, but you tell EMS you scraped your knee to avoid the consequences of the encounter

  8. RDM | Random Deathmatch

Attacking/Killing a person without any roleplay or interaction leading up to it

  9. VDM | Vehicle Deathmatch

    Attacking/Killing a person with a car maliciously
